Club Membership Fees

The Golf Club membership fees (not Centre fees) are now overdue.

Members who have not paid their fee will be removed from the club computer and the start sheet this incoming week.

Competition Entrance Fees

From Saturday 13th April 2013 the competition fees will be as follows:

Saturday
£3.50 plus £1 for the twos

Sunday and Wednesday
£3

9 Hole Qualifying Competitions
£2

Important: The information below has been updated since the first email alert sent out earlier today.

Tee Times
We were back to the summer start sheet from this week but due to a heavy frost forecast for Friday night through to Saturday morning the Golf Centre have agreed with Match & Handicap to move all the tee times back one hour. So the first group will be scheduled to tee off at 7:20 am.

A text alert, tweet and post on Facebook will inform members by 7am if there is going to be any further delay.

Competition
The Pollock Shield and the 36 Hole Senior Competition have been postponed until later in the season. A revised competition schedule can be found on the website. (Click to view schedule).  Instead the club will hold sweep over 14 holes from the blue tee boxes.

If there are any additional delays the plan is to run a sweep over two 9 hole courses with alternate groups going out onto alternate courses.

Winter League Dinner

Winter League dinner scheduled for tomorrow night (Friday 5th April) has been postponed.

Darren Clarke Golf School

Dear Junior Organiser / Golf Professional

We at the Darren Clarke Golf School would like to personally invite you and the members of your junior section to a complimentary day at the school.  

The day itself will be an opportunity to experience the school and the type of training which we carry out with our full time students on a weekly basis.  Should you have any members of your junior section that would be potentially looking for a career in Golf/Sport, we believe that what we have to offer is an ideal pathway to further their career.  Any attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the school including the education & golf programme.

Throughout the course of the day we will undergo some practical activities that will demonstrate various aspects of the golf programme which may include:

·         Golf Coaching (Long game & Short game technical)

·         Video coaching utilising GASP analysis software

·         FlightScope statistics (subject to availability)

·         Skills testing

·         Fitness Testing

·         TPI fitness sessions

·         Strength & Conditioning

·         Psychology

·         Nutrition 

So if you have a thriving junior section and feel like they would benefit from learning about the experience that we have to offer here at the Darren Clarke Golf School then we would delighted to show you  around the facilities and encourage each and every one to join in with some of the practical activities throughout the day.

Competition Sections

The council have approved the following changes to the handicap sections from the start of the 2013 / 2014 season. This decision was based on the playing handicaps of the draft summer start sheet.

Winter League Dinner

The Winter League Dinner will be held on Friday 5th April 2013 in Barnabys.

Tickets will be available from the starter until Saturday 30th March 2013.

Members who entered the Winter League will recevie their ticket free of charge; members who did not enter the Winter League and guests are welcome - Cost £5 per ticket.
