Dear Junior Organiser / Golf Professional

We at the Darren Clarke Golf School would like to personally invite you and the members of your junior section to a complimentary day at the school.  

The day itself will be an opportunity to experience the school and the type of training which we carry out with our full time students on a weekly basis.  Should you have any members of your junior section that would be potentially looking for a career in Golf/Sport, we believe that what we have to offer is an ideal pathway to further their career.  Any attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the school including the education & golf programme.

Throughout the course of the day we will undergo some practical activities that will demonstrate various aspects of the golf programme which may include:

·         Golf Coaching (Long game & Short game technical)

·         Video coaching utilising GASP analysis software

·         FlightScope statistics (subject to availability)

·         Skills testing

·         Fitness Testing

·         TPI fitness sessions

·         Strength & Conditioning

·         Psychology

·         Nutrition 

So if you have a thriving junior section and feel like they would benefit from learning about the experience that we have to offer here at the Darren Clarke Golf School then we would delighted to show you  around the facilities and encourage each and every one to join in with some of the practical activities throughout the day.

Competition Sections

The council have approved the following changes to the handicap sections from the start of the 2013 / 2014 season. This decision was based on the playing handicaps of the draft summer start sheet.

Winter League Dinner

The Winter League Dinner will be held on Friday 5th April 2013 in Barnabys.

Tickets will be available from the starter until Saturday 30th March 2013.

Members who entered the Winter League will recevie their ticket free of charge; members who did not enter the Winter League and guests are welcome - Cost £5 per ticket.

AGM - Any Other Business

The Annual General Meeting of Greenacres (Men's) Golf Club will be held in the Golf Centre on Monday 18th February 2013 at 7:30 pm.

Members questions under Any Other Business to be sent in writing to the Honorary Secretary at least 7 days prior to the AGM.

Saturday Tee Times

We have decided to extend the one hour delay to the tee times for another four weeks. So they will remain the same during February as they were in December and January with the first groups not teeing off until 9am.

Winter League

Even if we lose tomorrows competition we still plan to play another seven weeks of the Winter League and finish in the middle of March.

Saturday 26th January 2013

All this rain has finally cleared the snow from the course and the driving range has re-opened but tomorrows competition still remains doubtful.

The Golf Centre have decided to wait until tomorrow morning before making a final decision about opening the course. If they cannot open the whole course, they are hoping to open a limited number of holes. If that is the case the Golf Club will hold a sweep over the limited on holes that are open.
