Winter League Dinner: Friday 9th March 2010

Every member who entered the Winter League is invited to the Winter League Dinner on Friday 9th April 2010.

A full list is on the notice board, please tick your name if you are planning to attend by Sunday 28th March 2010.

Officers and Members of Council

The election of Officers and Members of Council took place at the Annual General Meeting of Greenacres (Men’s) Golf Club on Tuesday 16th March 2010. Your council for the 2010/2011 season will be:

President: Tom Brown
Captain: Terry Johnston
Vice Captain: Keith Hanna
Immediate Past Captain: David Lynn
Honorary Secretary: Noel Higginson
Honorary Treasurer: Brian Heaney
Match & Handicap Secretary: Keith Hanna

Council Members: Sam Barr, Wallace Crawford, John Harvey, Jim Ireland, Aaron Maule and Peter Watson.

Outgoing Council Members

The council would like to thank Peter Watson who stood down as Honorary Secretary but will continue to serve on the council, as well as Gabriel Murphy and Robin Johnston for all the work they have done for the club and council over the years.

Annual Matchplay Singles and Pairs

Members are invited to enter the Annual Matchplay Singles and Pairs competitions before Sunday 11th April 2010.


The entry fee per competition is £5 per person (i.e. £10 per pair) and members are asked to put the fee into the envelopes provided, write their name(s) clearly on the outside and place into the Match and Handicap slot of the cabinet.

Winter League

There are only three weeks left of the winter league and provided we don't lose two out of the last three weeks your 9 highest scores will count towards your final total.

In the event of a tie between players your 6 highest scores will be compared to determine the winner. If the tie is still not resolved your 4 and then 2 highest scores will be compared.
