With three teams in action in very windy conditions it was a busy at Greenacres Golf Club today.
Although the Ulster Fourball team won 3-2, it just wasn't enough as the team were knocked out 7-3 by Ballycastle.
The Holt Shield were beaten by Carrick 4 - 1. Hopefully they can get the results required in the final four matches.
Last to tee off were the juniors in the Fred Daly Trophy against Lurgan. Losing 4 - 3 was a very good result given the level of the opposition and leaves the tie balance with the away match to be played.

The 2012 HowDidiDo Titleist Order of Merit
The 2012 Titleist Order of Merit Powered by HowDidiDo and Golf Monthly.
HowDidiDo and Golf Monthly are proud to announce the return of the Order of Merit competition for all registered HowDidiDo members. This year we are delighted to be associated with and sponsored by Titleist, one of the leading golf brands in the world. Based on the success of last years’ trial the rules remain basically the same. The main changes being that the number of qualifying rounds will be five and the competition will run for most of the golfing season (up until the end of September 2012).
More than 11,000 golfers signed up to take part in last years’ competition and we hope that the word has spread and we look forward to this becoming one of the largest participation sports competitions in the world of amateur golf. Watch out for special events within the overall competition and make sure that you get your golfing buddies lined up to take part as you pit you golfing skills against an audience of over 300,000 golfers in the UK and Ireland.
Good luck to all of you that enter and be sure to make this the year that your golfing prowess shines through.

Inter-Club Competition Results
At the weeked the Ulster Fourball team were beaten 5 - 0 at Ballycastle so they will need as much support as possible for the home match on Sunday 29th April.
The Holt Shield team also lost 4 - 1 at Carnlea in their first match of the season.

Golfer of the Year
The Match and Handicap Committee have decide to change the method used to allocate the Order of Merit points for the Golfer of the Year. Instead of the top 20 places in each section getting points, points will be allocated to the top 40 places overall with the overall winner getting 40 points.
Note: Order of Merits points will not be awarded when members are playing different formats (Stroke / Stableford) and / or there is not an individual competition for every member.

The first Holt Shield match will be played next Sunday 15th at Carnalea.
